Furnace leaking when Central Air is turned on
    Hi,

My furnace seems to bring water from the bottom anytime I turn on the air condition. Can you help? Can I fix this myself?

There should be a small PVC drain at the bottom of the "A-coil" of the furnace. This line is clogged or the coil itself is really dirty and it's clogged on the inside of the air handler.

When ever folks see moisture on the walls or floor it's always, "Call the Plumber!" So we go out and find a AC condensate line that's clogged and spilling the condensate collecting pan over.
When that happens I carry a air bottle in the truck for just such calls.
First I blow the line clear from the pan drain if possible.
Once the line's clear I dump a quart of full strength bleach in the line to flush out the rest of the goo. Good luck, Tom

I gave that anonymously (SANTA) to the HVAC guy where I worked and he loved it. He could not figure out who it was from. I let him think for about 6 weeks and I definitely heard about it. It was so much fun.

Could have a drain pan. Rusty. If lines are clear and A coil okay - could be the drain pan beneath.

Whatever you do, do not blow on the line with your mouth. Nasty. Had the neighbor guy who thought that was the ticket, and he got a nasty bit in his mouth.

I like the can of air thingy.
