    Orgasam after Hysterectomy
I am new to this site and I accidentally posted in the wrong place. I am 29yrs old and have had both types of orgasams. I had a hysterectomy about a year ago and have had a vaginal orgasam a few times after the procedure. I recently stopped taking hormone replacement(don't know if that makes a differece). Here lately I haven't been able to climax at all. I start to have a clitoris orgasam and it just stops! I will almost be to the climax point then nothing. I'm having NO type of vaginal contractions... Im so worried that this is'nt going to change. Am I broken? Please help. Does this eventually happen after a complete hysterectomy or is it lack of hormones or maybe it's just me?? I'm open to any suggestions, I am becoming sexually frustrated! ( also, I am living the single parent life at this time so I am not with a partner. I do however use 3speed vibrators and they aren't getting the job done.) I have never had this problem..

I have heard the extact opposite from some women, and actually assumed myself, that inhibitions are/would be rampant after a hysterectomy because all the old fears of becoming pregnant are gone entirely, so its actually a new lease on life if you have a normal (above normal) libido.

Do you think it may be a reverse mind set with you? I mean, the fact that you can't produce any longer is having a negative effect subconciously ? I kind of believe that is the case.

Its has only been a year and a big adjustment. I don't know the reasons for your operation, but don't need to know. Maybe you are trying to go too fast.
Maybe you just need a really good partner to excite you. Have you tried watching porn by the way ?

My understanding is that vaginal contractions during orgasm can stop dependent on how much of the cervix and vagina were removed during the hysterectomy. If it is purely uterine, then it should have little effect. I emphasise the word 'should.'

As for clitoral orgasms - I don't know. Perhaps the HRT does have an effect, but it would depend on the combination of the hormones.

I suspect that every woman's response to this operation is different.

Why don't you Google 'sexual response after hysterectomy' and see what comes up.
