    Now I'm the main suspect?
I had to hich a ride and got one with some young guys who were drunk, they had drugs too. I refused but was drunk too. We ended up crashing couse they kept doing peel outs and I left them. I got scared cause I'm a black man with a record for drugs in my past about 3 yrs earlier. I hitched the rest of the way. A lady picked me up and I told her what happened. She took me home. 3 weeks later a sheriff came to me to interview me and started saying I stole a truck and I crashed it. He never charged me but said he is going to prosicuter if and will give me 15 min to admit. I atold hom about the guys driving but was afraid to tell about wreck.he said the lady seen me walking down the street near area where truck was stolen, she didn't see me take it but saw it going down the road later on.she didn't see who was in it then she saw me hitching and I told her about it and the other guys. She didn't see anyone else. But she didn't see the truck either.or the wreck. I left the wreck and the guys cause I have a record and they had drugs so I was scared. I had changed my life, got an education and was doing good. I am black in the country waaay out and I get stopped just walking. The police said the brand of beer I drink was in truck.. no fingerprints or foot prints. What do I do? It looks like I did this...

So you let the police lying to you most likely get you to confess to being there.

Guess what you were suckered most likely.

And please the "black" thing, you were drunk in the vechile that appears to be stolen when it crashed.
Just being in it, actually makes you guility to a point by the law, at least in my state. Your race has nothing to do with it, being at the scene of the crime does.

So you start by learning to never ever, **** and did I mention NEVER make a statement to the police without an attorney.
It is up to them to PROVE everything, and you just gave them enough to most likely get an indictment at this point.

So you start now by not saying anything, they police are allowed to lie to you, to get you to confess, they can tell you a bus full of nuns say you, they found DNA at the scene and your sperm on was the steering wheel. If you don't ignore it, and have your attorney say, OK prove your evidence, then they get you to say things that may be used against you.

I do get stopped all the time here and they do profile hard core. But your right I took myself out of the drug game along time ago... years but I never laid down the bottle... maybe it's time. I do believe things would be way better if I just let the drinking go. I have been over doing it. Bad judgments. Thank you. And your right I'm sure wiith my past record he would have arrested me right there.

Racial things still go on... I know... I experience them. Chuck how can you be so blind... maybe you never had to deal with threats and violence... do you live in some isolated part of the country where you never have to deal with the REAL issues in America. Cultures are taught to fear and even hate differences... race card? Get a life before you start trying to give advice.yes most of us are progressing... and learning from our mistakes. But not everyone has , nor do they want to. I have been involved in this since I was a child... and yes it happens in small town court rooms too. Take a look around... really!! It's getting better but it's a thorn in my flesh. It's been 2 weeks since the officer talked to me and not a word or letter... nothing. I have determined to try to find some online support for drinking since I am in country/w no car. I have slowed down and am trying to get close to the Lord Jesus... sorry if I got a little mad but if you don't experience a situation how can you intelligently speak on it. Thanks for the rest of your advice chuck and everyone. Peace

Oh I actually liked the rest of your advice... and I should know better than to speak to them. But I thought I was a witness, not a suspect.
