Situation:

I am currently on an OPT. I have 4 years left on my F1 visa, however, my understanding is that does not matter since I have already graduated (transfer student).

My options to stay in the US, I believe, are as follows.

Convert OPT to work visa, however, my OPT expires before the 2010-11 application period.
My plan is - Go back to school in order to maintain my Visa status and then when the 2010- 11 period comes along apply for a work permit.

Question:

My question is, can I convert from OPT to F1 and do as I plan to? - what are the pitfalls of this crudely thought out plan or is there a better alternative.
