Toilet Flushes Slowly
I have a mystery toilet issue.
I've had 2 plumbers come out to no avail.
The toilet will drain slowly but not enough for solids to go down.
Here is a list of things we tried.
1. Replaced entire toilet itself with brand new toilet.
2. auger line, cleared obstructions
3. turned on a waterhose, and there is no backup. Water drains
With toilet removed.
4. with toilet resealed it still drains slowly.
Toilet used to flush fine.
It is a mystery.

Hi Wootang:
How about the vents... did they check the vents? For example, if the lavatory drain/vent are used to WET VENT the toilet and the lavatory drain/vent are clogged.. even slightly... this could cause issues with drainage.
How about the vent going out the roof... did they check to see if this is clogged?
Let me know...

I'm not sure about the venting. I could not find any vents or tubes coming out of the roof.
Could not find any studor vents in the attic.
The place was renovated with new drywall, and I don't want to start cutting into the walls.

This toilet used to be just a standing toilet with no sinks near it.
So I doubt a wet vent was used. Assuming it is the venting?
DO I have to bust up the concrete near the toilet drain and install a vent?

Any gurgles or bubbles in the bowl when a fixture's draining? Septic tank or city sewer?
Is this the only toilet and if you have another is there a problem with that one also?
You installed a brand new toilet with the results? Did it ever work? Any new construction lately?
[QUOTE][2. auger line, cleared obstructions/QUOTE] Tell me more. What line did you snake? The toilet branch after the toilet was pulled or the sewer main. If you snaked the house main did you also snake the sewer? If two plumbers had a problem and couldn't figure it out you're going to hafta feed me a lot more information then you're giving me now. I want to know what type of a toilet was replaced. Jet or gravity bowl?
1.6 gallon tank? I want to know exactly what lines were snaked and what "obstructions " were brought back. In short, I want to know everything that you know. Regards, tom

Nothing else is connected to this garage renovation toilet as far as I know. It is a single toilet sitting there. When we bought the house, the garage simply had a toilet sitting there in the corner of the garage/workshop. My handy friend does not recalling capping any vents near the toilet. There was a sink on the other side of the garage about 20 feet away. It has since been removed and all lines are capped off there. I have cut that drain of that sink(ran outside) in half with hacksaw to expose it to the air in case that drain was a wet vent.
1. line going from under the toilet was auged. The auger bottomed out. I think into a septic tank. No paper or tampons returned.
2. Yes it worked fine for months after renovating the entire garage with sheetrock, tile, cosmetic improvements.
3. Gravity toilet, by gerber. 1.6 gallon tank.
4. No idea where the septic tank (if there is one) outside access
Port is. Or where the septic tank itself is. Possible under the driveway.

P.S. All the toilets in the house across the driveway from the garage
Work fine.
