    Name Change On Property Deed
When I acquired my house from my mother years ago I used my married name. Thankfully I never put the spouse on the deed. When I went to pay my taxes the other day the person at the office said that my name also came up associated with my ex-husband and his spouse's name . My name on my tax bill comes up as so and so /aka so and so since I have remarried also. She said it just mustn't be updated in the white pages. I've been divorced since 1995. Is it costly to just have your name changed on a deed? I find it perplexing to be associated with them in any respect. Thank you.

I honestly don't know why there's a problem. My house was held in my previous married name for years and years. Some years after I remarried I paid an Attorney to record it as my original name a/k/a my married name.

I work under my original name and use my married name socially - no problems.
