Open neutral
Today I purchased a Charmglow Grill Island from my local Home Depot. The grill lights didn't work. I checked the outlet (at the back of the grill) into which the lighting plug is inserted. The tester showed an "open neutral".
Since the grill was assembled by Home Depot I don't know if the problem is because of a wiring error. Is there any other option than disassembling the grill. This is a big job as the grill includes a warming oven and a refrigerator.
I would appreciate some help.

I would have home depot fix the problem since they were the ones to assemble it.

I agree. Have them fix it or replace unit.

Not sure why no one is mentioning that the open neutral condition needs to be corrected. Anything plugged into that receptacle will not work properly.
An open neutral is caused by a loose connection or splice anywhere in the circuit, from the panel or in any one of the junction boxes or receptacles in the circuit.

If I read the OP's question correctly, this outlet is actually on the grill itself? (not in the wall of the house)
If that's the case, I agree with those who said to take it back to HD and have them repair it if it's still under warranty.

However- that said, take your tester and test the plug that the grill plugs into (at the wall outlet of the structure)
If it too has an open neutural then the grill is most likely fine, and the problem lies in the building's wiring.

Check the receptacle that you plug the grill into (The one in the wall)
If this has an open neutral the problem is in your house wiring.
If this receptacle tests good, and the receptacle on the grill tests open neutral, the problem is in the grill. Since you just bought it, take it back to Home Depot.
