Income not being reported for Child Support modification
My daughter lives in Maryland (Montgomery County) and has an 8-year old son, my grandson. I have been helping to support him as much as possible but have now lost my job. The problem is that my grandsons father only pays $100.00 a month for child support and my daughter is struggling to support him by herself. His father has his own business (just opened an additional location) but puts everything in a family members name to avoid paying any substantial amount of child support. When my daughter brings him to court for modifications, he says that he is unemployed and does not have income.

We do not have money to pay for a private investigator to prove that he has a lot more money than he is letting on to. Does anyone know of any agencies that can help or any advice for self-help?

    Thanks.

I don't know that you can prove his income since he has it untouchable in the family's name, but you should be able to report him for fraud for claiming he is not working at all.
Then they can investigate him and possibly do an audit on the business to come up with a better estimate on 'his pay'.

    Report it to child support.
