[LGP]

The temperature in my house stays at 80 degrees. I have the ac unit on. The outside unit is running. I hear the thermostat click on, but I'm not sure I hear the large ton unit inside the house come on. I'm not really sure what this unit does. I do feel air coming out of the vents and it is cold. I have changed the filter, flipped the breakers, and made sure the outside units fan is spinning. The small pipe near the bottom of the outside unit is cold. I'm not sure what else to check and I'm not sure what the problem could be. I have called a tech, but I'm female and single and I don't want them to take advantage. I'd like to be informed.

You think you will be taken advantage of because you are single and a woman?? I wish you didn't feel like that LGP. We burned our bras, got the vote and moved on from that visage years ago.

You sound pretty sure of yourself from what you have accomplished already. Go ahead call them, but first I hope one of our experts on this board will answer first.

I just had to add my two cents. God help the tradesman who ever enters my house and takes that attitude !

Please provide make and model, and whether this is a heat pump or straight A/C. There are generally two lines running to the outdoor unit; one that is insulated and the other that is not. Is the insulated line cold to the touch, or warm?
