My fertile days or safe days
Hey guys,
I don't really rely on safe days. Actually, I don't even consider that I have safe days. But let me ask, before or after my period, which one am I likely to be infertile? This is purely out of curiosity.
Sometimes am told afew days before my period, then again am told afew days afer my period. So which is it?

Usually smack bang in the middle of your cycle...
Just after your period is the least likely time to get pregnant.
But like you said, there are no 'safe days'.

After reading your OTHER post---your "safer" days are going to be the ones after you get your butt on birth control pills.

There are no safe days... You can get pregnant while on your period as well as any day in between. Few women's cycles are as accurate or reliable as a calender.
Have sex without reliable birth control then EXPECT to get knocked up at some point.

Everyone here is smart enough to know that there ARE no safe days. Anytime you have sex, it is possible you can get pregnant.
If you don't want a baby, please get on birth control.

Having sex without using protection is like playing russian roulette. One of these days you will get shot.

I know people who thought they were safe having sex during or right after her period. They are parents now.
I ovulate at a different time every month. I'm TRYING to get pregnant, and because I can't track my ovulation, I either have sex EVERY day, or just hope to get lucky.
Please be absolutely SURE about your answer before giving the advice. If the OP followed your advice and had a menstrual cycle like mine, she has a VERY good chance of getting pregnant at ANY time during her cycle.

As I said earlier, I don't rely on safe days.at all.and am not 15 or 16. Am an adult, whose menstrual cycle is irregular and do not at all rely on safe days. However, I would like the privillege to get to know where exactly infertily can fall, is the body most fertile, before and during my period or after? This as I said, is out of curiosity.
So people, kindly enlighten me, instead of the scary warnings that am getting. I have googled for the infor but as I said, am getting different answers.

There ARE NO safe days. You can get pregnant before, during AND after your period. If you do not want to get pregnant, you need to get on birth control. You are an adult, so this should not be a problem for you.
It will also help regulate your period better.

Safe days are usually the days that you use protection perfectly. But even protection fails sometimes. If you aren't ready to be a parent, your safest days are the days you DON'T have sex.

The reason you are getting conflicting answers is that there ARE no safe days!
We aren't you--and don't know your cycle. We're not charting your ovulation--you aren't either. With irregular periods thrown in, there's no WAY anyone could tell you when a safe day MIGHT be.

When I was trying to get pregnant, I took a natural family planning course which taught me to track my ovulation.
Ovulation occurs approximately two weeks before the onset of your period.
Because you don't know when your next period will be, there's no way by looking at the calendar to know when ovulation will be.
You need to pay attention to your body and take your temperature in the morning and various other techniques.
Sperm can live in the vagina long after the sex act is over, too.
You will not find YOUR safe days on the Internet.

In all honesty, there are NO safe days for any woman. If you are not wanting to be a parent either protect yourself or don't have sex. And even protection is not 100%. Wait, I think I said that.
Do you know how many babies I have delivered in my one year as a L&D nurse to women who tracked their fertility only to get pregnant?
The point is moot. If you don't want to be a mother... Don't Have Sex!!
We can hem and haw all we like... we can discuss this at length, and you will hear other women's experiences. But I cannot tell you how many babies I have delivered to women who THOUGHT it was a SAFE day.
Does this conversation really need to continue?

That is not true. You are a nurse, of course you see only the pregnant ones. There are thousands of others who are successful in keeping pregnancy at bay.
