    Condenser fan
    Ok looking for a little help old fan motor was getting hot and internal trip going off after about 15 min. changed fan motor with an exact replacement, same thing is happening goes off in about 15 min. unit is clean capacitor is correct for new motor and wiring is correct when its running blades are spinning in right direction I am fresh out of ideas. Had tech come out and he can’t figure it out either ….. Compressor is still running fine …….Is it time to just get a new unit?

    Verify Voltage at the unit, could have a bad connection/burnt buss.

    Also verify the voltage at the point of connection of fan wires when it has quit running probably where it connects to the contactor

    The capacitor may be correct, but are you sure it hasn't failed? If it is a dual type, the compressor cell may be okay but the fan cell may have failed.

    Ok I would like to thank everyone for their help I finally got my problem fixed. When I ordered the new motor I got a new capacitor it was the right capacitor for the fan motor but was not right for the compressor as it was a duel cap. Once I corrected that it’s been running great. I hope that this will help someone else that my be having the same problem “If it’s a duel cap make sure it’s correct for both fan and compressor “
