    Lighting Help
I currently have two hanging lights in my office, that both run off the same switch. I would like to change these to one small(3) track light, using the second light box (farthest from the switch). How do I remove the first one? Can I just cap off the wires? Will the switch still control the second? Please any help would be appreciated.

Remove the fixture you want eliminated, and be sure , if there are two sets of black and white wires, they are spliced toether, black-black & white-white, and capped.

Cover this outlet box with a white round finish plate, available at electrical supply stores.

If the one box that has only one two wire cable and is the one that will not need to feed the track, you can kill the power to this by not splicing through at the other box, and burying the box and finish over it. Only if you kill the power and never want to use this box again.

Use the other box to feed the track, be sure you get the correct "Feed" accessory designed to cover an outlet box and feed the track.
