    When can child support payments
When does Child Support stop - is this when the child leaves school at sixteen and gets a job, or does Child Support carry on until the child is 18 ?

    Hello B:

It depends on the particular child support agreement. They are NOT all the same.

Probably 18 (or higher) since the child is still most likely a dependent of the custodial parent.

As excon said it depends on what is written in the support order.

If the child is living on their own and self supporting, you may be able to get support ended.
