OK, so my story starts like this. I live with my boyfriend and we obviously pay rent just like millions of other people out there. However I didn't have a job when I first moved in with him so I applied that this retial place. I've worked there for about 4 months now. My boss is so mean to all the people under her, including me. She smokes in the backroom (which is highly illegal in the state of NJ). She calls me slow and tells me she doesn't trust me on the floor alone. And she's just nasty,one of those never has anything nice to say kind of people. Two girls quit in 2 months.

I had no intention of quitting. I live in a summer town and summer jobs are everywhere. I applied to an ice cream store and got hired. Now he said I can work full time or part time. He's paying me more and it's a job I'd enjoy (I used to work at an ice cream parlor and loved it). Now I got sick. Very sick and couldn't come into work. When I called out my boss says "well when you decide to come back into work, bring a dr note" and then hung up on me. I thought that was very rude. I was out of work for a week and a half. And she told her sister(who contacted me) another employee(who contacted me) and one of the girls who quit (again she contacted me) and I don't think it is fair to tell people that I am sick and haven't come into work.

I just want to quit. My boyfriend already said we can afford it and that since I have another job its not a big deal. BUT then I have no money for two weeks. That means begging him for money for food, gas etc. and I'm a very independent person and would just like to have my own money. But I start my new job in 3 days. Oh and my doctor said that I got sick because I was to stressed. That all my aymtoms are how my body responds to stress. And I'm afraid that if I go back, that I'm going to get so stressed out that I get sick again.. I don't want that.

Can someone please help?

Just stick with it for the next 2 weeks.

I been through the same thing with my last boss. All she did was talk down to people any and every chance she got. I couldn't stand her and dealt with everything she dish out enough I found another and quit when I started the new job.

There was times when I wanted to stepped out of my element to just give her a nice slap across her face. There were times when I just wanted to tell her out and it took a lot of willpower for me to hold it in. My workplace was stressed due to her but I loved everyone else.

I develop tough skin from working under her and my tolerance level is beyond high. I tough it out when there was a number of times I wanted to just leave but I wouldn't give her the satisfaction. I stay until I found something better and am happy where I am at now.

So tough it out for the next two weeks than move on to your next job.

Well don't overwork yourself. Maybe you need to find something that can calm you down. Yoga perhaps? I never tried it but I heard it helps. Anything that can help you calm your nerves.

Just take it easy, from what you told us, your bills are paid ontime. Your boyfriend seems very understanding. You seem to be qualified for multiple jobs, so take your time to find the job that best suits you. If you have to borrow a bit of cash from your boyfriend while you are search for the right job, just pay him back later (if you really feel that bad).

Try not to make problems out of nowhere. You seem to be doing just fine!
