    1997 Honda Accord TDC code
I changed the head on my motor. Timing belt was replace with a new one. Put everything back together and cranked it. Didn't want to crank over so found out my timing was off by 3 teeth. Redid and car started but rough. When reversing car tries to turn off. Then when driving, it drives okay but when at a stop sign or light, the car jerks and feels like it wants to turn off.

Went to Autozone to get the codes and got p1361 which is Intermittent Interruption in TDC 1 Sensor Circuit.

What are some things I should check? What part should I buy if I do need to replace something? Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

When you changed the timing belt, did you set the crankshaft so that the No. 1 piston is at top dead center (TDC) on the compression stroke.

It's best to place a mark (e.g. Whiteout or white paint) on each pulley and corresponding point on the side of the old timing belt, before removing. Then, remove old belt, transfer marks exactly to new belt, and reinstall with confidence.

Yes. Next time I will be sure to use whiteout.

Car runs great on high rpms but when idling it bucks/shakes.

I've had gotten some advice from a few people who say that I would have to change the whole distributor.

    Does this sound right?

. Clean the Idle Air Control Valve (IACV):

. Warm car to normal operating temperature and set idle speed.

. Set timing with a timing light.

Did you set the idle rpm and check the timing with a strobe light?
