Options regarding judgements on credit reports.
Question: While reviewing a copy of my credit report, I noticed that there is a judgement from 2002 listed from an apartment complex. The apartment manager was contacted and it appears that they do not hold files from that long ago. A collection agency was never assigned to this judgement. I was advised that settlement cannot be made in court, but, instead, payments must be made through the apartments or through an assigned collection agency. Since I am not able to have this settled through the courts, nor make a payment with the apartment community, what are my options?

Get a copy of the lawsuit that was filed that resulted in the judgment and contact the law firm that is listed for the plaintiff and ask them just who you would pay to get the judgment satisfied.
