Detained and released by ICE, will it affect Canada Immigration?
    Hi,

I was arrested and detained by ICE/INS and then released due to a prior deportation order which was canceled by the judge but when I ran the FBI check it came back with the record saying that I was detained by ICE and then they had multiple spellings of my name on the report. My wife has the interview waiver from CIC and we have to submit this report to them. Hers came back clean.
Will this affect the Canada Immigration?
Should we do something before we submit this?
Is there any information anyone can share with us regarding this?

    Thank you,

First off where are you from and why were you detained by ICE?

I am from India and I came to US when I was 16 and then in 1996 there was a deportation issued in my name in-absentia. So the judge has recently re-opened the case (this case was my mother's and I was just in it because I was a minor). My wife is from Bangladesh and her Stepfather and mother are Canadian Nationals. We filed the application for Canadian PR a year ago and everything went through and we got the interview waiver which asked us for the FBI clearance, medical and other documents. In that clearance her report was clean but mine showed my detention by ICE. She is the primary candidate. Thank you for responding lowtax4eva.
