    Cap of toilet water shut off valve is too small
    Hi, I just noticed that the cap of the water shut off valve of my toilet is not big enough to cover up the entire hole on the wall so there is a small gap on the wall. I suspect (and hope) the plumber probably drilled the hole too big when they installed the toilet (my place is 10 years old).

    Could anyone let me know how I can cover up this crack/gap please? I've seen insects climbing in from this crack. The attached picture shows the crack circled in red.

    Your picture failed to come through. The "cap" is called a escutcheon plate.
    If you wish to replace it they make a split chrome plate, (see image). You will have to take a pair of tin snips and cut the old one out.
    If you have a gap simply fill the hole with spackle and paint. You may nor install your new plate.

    Be aware that to use this plate you'll have to remove the angle stop to do so.

    Thanks a lot Speedball1. Sorry about the picture. Don't think you need to see it but I've reattached it anyway.

    I'd like to use speckle because I am not capable of replacing the cap myself. This may be a dumb question, but, if I use speckle, will I be able to remove the cap in the future if that becomes necessary? My understanding is the speckle will glue the cap to the wall for good but I am not sure if that's true.
