My water turn off vavle to the toilet is leaking.how do I go about repairing it or replacing it?I can't afford a plumber right now and I'm willing to do it myself.Can you please help.

It is very easy, first you have to shut off water to the toilet angle valve (close your main S/O Valve) then you can remove the angle valve and replace it with aa new one see the image below, by the way what is wrong with it you may not need to replace you be able to repair it, let me know, good luck.

Is it leaking around the stem or around one of the connections?

If it is leaking from one of the connections you can tightened it a little bit to stop the leak, see the picture below, good luck.

Hi, it might be the valve or maybe just the hose.Usually it is the supply line connected to the valve. The washers inside get worn out.That is fairly easy to fix. Shut off main water valve,mine is on hose bib out in front of the house.You might have to shut it off at the sidewalk if you don't have a shut off on the bib. Then using a crescent wrench,take the supply line off.Put a bucket or pan under it before you do,because water will come out.Then take it off from the toilet. Left to loose,right to tight. Take that to the hardware store with you to get a match. Any old supply line won't do as there are many different thread sizes and lengths. Also pick up some teflon tape. Then when you get home, wrap the tape around the valve three times,and put the line onto it. Hand tighten,then 1/4 turn from the crescent wrench. No more,if you over tighten it,it will leak. Hook it up to the toilet again hand tighten and 1/4 turn from the wrench.Turn the water back on.If it still leaks,and it is the valve,it might be sweated on to copper pipe and you will need a torch to replace it. But like I said,usually it is the supply line.
