    Gas can storage
Is it safe to leave a gas can with gas in it on my shaded porch in Arizona considering how hot it gets during the summer months? The porch is never not shaded but if you've been here, you know even in the shade it's extremely hot. Thanks for your help

I really can't answer that. If it's an enclosed area with ignition sources (electrical outlets) then no. Heat is not the enemy as long as there is some expansion room in the tank.

The enemy is gasoline vapor. It is heavier than air so it collects at the ground. Turning on light switches or plugging in things to outlets with vapor present may cause an explosion.

My father safely stored a lawn mower and a can of gas safely on a cool porch for many years.

I'd feel safer with a cumbustable gas alarm.

You can see that storing it inside is a no no.

Thanks for answering. I definitely wouldn't put it inside. That just doesn't seem smart. Thanks again

I inherited several rifles, pistols, and reloading equipment. My wife immediately made an offer I'm considering. She said if the guns come, she goes! I'd hate to see her go, maybe there gun dealers that store guns for a fee? I live in the middle of Florida and I'm willing to drive.
