    Wireless Keeps Turning Off
I have an Advent laptop (2 and a half years old now)

This week I came home from work and it wouldn't connect to my wirelss router. I tried allt he normal stuff turning off modems etc... etc... but still couldn't find it. I rang Virginmedia and spent 3 hours trying everything but it seems that the wirless on the laptop isn't working and keeps turning itself off. I checked my actual wireless router and my work laptop conencts to it fine. But own personal laptop just will not find or connect to any wireless.

I have to connect the laptop directly to the modem

HELP!! How do I fix this problem?

    Cheers Jen

Obvious question, but is your wireless receiver turned on on the laptop? There should be a blue light someplace on the laptop, either along the keyboard or on the front of the computer. If there is no blue light, then your receiver is not on. Try that first.

Hi Yes I have turned it on I double checked a few times lol. When I click on the wireless network connection icon at the bottom right hand corner of my screen and try and view available wireless's it says WIndows cannot configure this wireless connection.

When I spoke to Virginmedia they ran me through some things by clicking on run and configuring so that my laptop will let windows configure it and I do it then straight away it undoes what I have done :(

    ANy other ideas?
