    It's like trying to talk on the phone. Try to talk. If you sense the other person talking hold back a variable amount of time and try again.

    Switches are smart and have routing built into them, so the LAN doesn't become a big party line like it does with a HUB.

    An answer, not sure if it's what's expected or if it's too much or too little detail.
