Room mate defaults on rent. Can she sue me?
I have been locked into a 12 month lease with a room mate. Only our shares of rent are not equal I am only responsible for 1/3 of the rent and the cable bill. The other 2/3 rent and garbage and electric are on my room mate. The garbage got turned off, the power went out the next day and she almost got us evicted for missing 3 months rent. I am all current with my bills and have a fairly good relationship with my land lord on top of which I am having to front the money to turn electricity back on. How do I get out of my lease with out having my room mate sue me for the remainder of the months in our lease agreement?

If she is not living up to her end of the lease, SHE is the one breaking the lease.
