no oral sex regardless of your preference until the piercing is completely healed and pain free. Granted there will be a period of stretching involved with a new tongue ring (forward, back, side to side) and you will bite it (oh yes you will) and catch it on your teeth - both of which cause
extraordinary flashes of pain.
Yeah it's more than you asked for but it comes from experience. If you do get it done and after it heals, it can be a wonderful thing for your partner, however if you change your mind, the tongue heals rather quickly so long as you stick with a smaller gauge like no bigger than 10.
