Nothing.

Trust me, there's nothing you can tell her. I got mine done 13 years ago when I was 19. My parents learned to accept it, but to this day they still don't like it and I'm a guy!
Best advice I can give is wait until you're 18. If you still want it then, go for it, but do your research. Find a clean I mean CLEAN shop that has an autoclave or uses single use needles. There is a huge risk of infection involved so follow any and all advice given by the technician. No smoking (worst thing you can do with a new tongue ring), carry around an ice cup and a bottle of Listerine for the swelling (Oh yes, it'll swell) and to rinse out your mouth after eating, (hope you like milkshakes) drinking, kissing, basically anything having to do with your mouth. On that same sort of topic, no oral sex regardless of your preference until the piercing is completely healed and pain free. Granted there will be a period of stretching involved with a new tongue ring (forward, back, side to side) and you will bite it (oh yes you will) and catch it on your teeth - both of which cause extraordinary flashes of pain.
Yeah it's more than you asked for but it comes from experience. If you do get it done and after it heals, it can be a wonderful thing for your partner, however if you change your mind, the tongue heals rather quickly so long as you stick with a smaller gauge like no bigger than 10.
