    Married filing separate or jointly
    Hi,

I was married in June and am filing taxes with another for the first time. Here's the question. We want to file jointly on the federal form and separately on the state forms. I live in MA, his primary residence is in VT. Can we do this? Do we use the 2 addresses on the federal form? Or pick one? I'm confused and I don't want to do anything wrong.

Normally states require that you file in the same way as you filed the federal return.
