But don't you know Bobby, that we have problems in this country so we mustn't stand in the way of Obama saving us?

It's OK for Republicans to want President Obama to fail if they think he's jeopardizing the country, Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal told members of his political party Tuesday night.

Jindal described the premise of the question -- "Do you want the president to fail?" -- as the "latest gotcha game" being perpetrated by Democrats against Republicans.

"Make no mistake: Anything other than an immediate and compliant, 'Why no sir, I don't want the president to fail,' is treated as some sort of act of treason, civil disobedience or political obstructionism," Jindal said at a political fundraiser attended by 1,200 people. "This is political correctness run amok."

Since conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh said that he hoped that Obama would fail, Republicans have been pressed by Democrats and the media about Limbaugh's comments.

Jindal, a potential 2012 presidential candidate, told the Republican audience he would "not be brow beaten on this, and I will not kowtow to their correctness."

"My answer to the question is very simple: 'Do you want the president to fail?' It depends on what he is trying to do."

I say it's entirely proper - even our patriotic duty - to object to this administration and this Congress' dubious efforts to "remake" and bankrupt our country.

Go ahead, tell me we lost and need to just get over it.

I disagree - its not OK to WANT your president to fail. If your president fails, your government fails and your country fails.

Don't like him, don't agree with him, that's fine... but don't wish your country failure... because that is YOUR failure too.

I guess Bobby will be in the cross hairs for the next couple of weeks. Maybe they will target him as the party leader or something.

Dont like him, dont agree with him, thats fine... but dont wish your country failure... because that is YOUR failure too.

Did you pay attention to what he said? "My answer to the question is very simple: 'Do you want the president to fail?' It depends on what he is trying to do." Wanting bad policy to fail is not the same as failure for the country. In fact, it's quite the opposite.

Ok Steve, but what is the merit in not standing up on principle to object to policy that's bad for the country?

Besides, president's have failed before and the country made it through just fine. We are bigger than one man and we didn't elect a king, we elect people on the premise that they work for us, not the other way around.

I'm not going to tell you to get over it. I never did. I only suggested that you shouldn't snivel when you're not listened to. I never did.

But, I didn't expect to be listened to either, although the dufus himself spoke about bipartisanship.

I'm just saying that its OK to disagree with policy or process, but not with principal. He is trying to solve our problems... and deserves our support.

I don't know that my point is really relevant to yours... I just like hearing myself talk. Like some governors... ;)

Actually the article says he "witnessed" an exorcism, not performed one. It also says, "And, hey, one could argue there're certainly a lot of demons to be purged in Washington."

Spit ,he was witness to an exorcism .He did not perform it. Although I am not a big believer in Marian intervention there are many Catholics who give testimonial to it.

A Catholic chanting a prayer of intercession is of course completely strange or diabolical I guess. But most of the country believes in the power of prayer .I doubt this would be held against him .

Perform was the wrong word he participated in an exorcism. You can't argue that. A witness would have just stood there and witnessed what was going on. By him chanting that is participating.

I use to do stupid little rituals when I was a kid when my team was playing. I believed it would work. But then again when I was a kid I was brain washed for 9 years to believe 1 human can walk on water.

LOL, my skin isn't thin. After all those years of arguing with libs I just quit pulling punches. And, "Bush stole the election," that's sniveling. Standing against bad policy on solid principles isn't.
