Hi, my brother found out he got a 1 night stand pregnant and he was there for her throughout the pregnancy, scans etc... he was at the hospital when his son was born but then after it all turned sour and without any reason the mother has now said she does not want the father to have any contact with their son. She never put his name on the birth cert. my brother has tried to text and ring her for answers and even called around to her house to see his son. She has now gone to her solicitor and said that if he contacts her again regarding their son she will take him for harassment. My brother is stuck in no mans land... he can't see his son, he can't get a paternaty test to prove the child is his to get his name on the birth cert and he can't even contact her to see how their son is doing!! He decided that if he couldn't see his son he would at least make his life comfortable by putting money into the mothers bank account but she won't even let him do that. He is the father and he can't do anything about this... please he needs help!!

Your brother need legal advice from a laywer specialised in these 'father' cases.

Via the court system your brother can demand access to his son, but that has to follow first the path of DNA testing, than applying to Court for visiting rights, combined with maintenance payments for his son. His name being on the birth certificate is not relevant in this procedure.

If he can't afford a lawyer, go to the nearest university, legal department. They often help at reduced prices.
