    Alternative to starving?
Hi, the internet really confuses me and I was hoping someone with actual knowledge of weight loss could help!

Basically Im in my early twenties, size 10 clothes and weigh 9 stone but have inches of loose flab around my stomach and mid section.

I eat healthily and tried 40 minutes of cardio 5 times a week for three months but there was no change.

I then started starving myself and this worked, I lost some of the flab but everything else suffered and I had bad skin and nails etc...

I don't want to loose weight, just the flab. I try crunches, walking, good food lots of sleep but only not eating works. Im really depressed because my stomach is so out of proportion with the rest of me and I don't want to get an eating disorder but think it's the only way to loose it. I have been like this for a few years now and Im not pregnant. I know women have a tendency to have areas of fat but I used to have a flat stomach and starving gets rid of it.
Internet sites contradict each other. What can I do?

Don't starve yourself.. just change your lifestyle.
Instead of that soda, drink a glass of water.

Instead of that donuts with coffee, get a bagel.

If you insist the coffee, put sweetener instead of sugar.
