    Need to lose tons of weight
    I've gained 50 pounds in the past 2 years. I'm trying my best to eat right but I just can't seem to stick to it. I work 7 days a week and go to school 6 days a week. I am
    VERY busy and have no time for exercise cause I get so tired when I get home. Can anybody help me with a diet plan that really works? :confused:

    Yes, to be lasting, you have to exercise and you have to stick with the eating better. Walk more... park at the farthest parking lots at work and school, dance around your house, get moving while you watch TV, you can find the time to execise if you really want to. You won't always feel like it... in fact, when starting you probably won't feel like it most of the time, but you have to just do it. After several weeks of being consistent it will be easier.

    Eat more healthy foods and keep unhealthy ones to the very minimum, eat less (less but still sensible), and exercise more.

    Keep in mind that it took you 2 years to put on the 50 pounds. It will take some time to take it off in a healthy manner so that you will actually keep it off.

    Exercise doesn't have to be a lot of work for it to be effective. Doula suggested walking, and that is not only a good way to work off the pounds, but it will boost your energy, you'll sleep better, and blow of stress.

    Get good shoes, trust me, I learned the hard way.

    As to food. Make time to grocery shop the same time every week. Plan your meals ahead to include fruit and vegetables, whole grains. Picking up groceries on the fly or throwing a meal together when you are really hungry is a recipe for disaster- not to mention cut out all fast food.

    With the vegetables you buy, prepare them the day you buy them. Wash, cut, and bag. Take slices of green pepper, carrots, celery, and pieces of cheese and whole grain crackers and an apple to snack on during the day.

    Eat breakfast. It takes a minute in the microwave to cook an egg; about the same for 2 slices of toast. Add a slice of cheese on top and a glass of orange juice.

    Pre-cook chicken breasts. (I buy them when they are on sale). Chicken caesar wraps, or chicken stir fry with whole grain rice is a healthy dinner. (again, make the rice up ahead, and buy a bag of frozen vegetables).

    Get yourself to a bulk store and buy small quantities of nuts, dried peas (honest, they are awesome), dried fruit etc. Mix and store in an airtight container. When you have overwhelming hunger pains, a handful of this will tide you over, plus its good for you.

    Check the labels on the bread you are buying. Look for the one that has the most fibre per slice.

    I buy the pre-packaged muffin mix, and add a handful of the bulk store mix, and a small container of blueberries to the mix. 24 muffins goes a long way. I package them in 2's, and freeze them.

    I think the key is organization. If you plan your food dollars right, and think that the purchasing, cleaning and cutting and storing takes maybe 2 hours tops, that will save you endless time through the week when you are tired.

    The last thing is portion control. I literally halved my meals (say 1 egg instead of two, and one slice of toast instead of two), and added a banana or apple.

    If you get the food thing down right, you get the energy, and you won't be tired all the time. Exercise won't seem like such a daunting task. I bought a bike, and ride for a half hour or so. Sometimes I take a book or my camera and stop along the way. It doesn't have to be exactly a 15 minute brisk walk- do what you like to do and enjoy.

    I find having a small snack in the late evening, like turkey kobassa and cheddar cheese on a few crackers kills cravings for refined sugar snacks and ice cream, which is the love of my life.
