Reaching 4 months of missed period
I missed my periods from December. By end of March I would complete 4 months of not getting my periods. This is my first experience of missing periods.

Got negative HPT's and also negative test when I visited doctor in Feb. On my request doctor performed a blood report and that also ended up as negative.

I feel my belly has come up. Phants that I wear became tight. I some times feel my stomach as a baloon with air in it. By looking at my belly I feel like doing a diet control. But I always eat only if I am hungry, no junk food intakes.. hmm now a days not interested in eating regular stuffs.. mind is looking for a different food & I don't know what it is.. Why is it like that ?

Does any one faced it any time in their life ?

    Thanks, DJ

I'd have a doctor check you for any problems with your thyriod. Also, if you're experiencing any milky discharge from your breasts, the problem could be excess production of the hormone prolactin. Either of these problems could cause the symptoms you're describing.

No. I don't have any Thyroid problem. Doctor cleared me out that I don't have any Thyroid problem after studying my blood report.

I'm not certain why you would be having alternate food cravings, save if the progesterone levels are off. Oftentimes if that's the case, they won't decrease significantly enough to signal to the body that the uterine lining can be shed. That could cause many of the symptoms you're describing. Did your doctor test for that as well?

Assuming your progesterone levels are also adequate, the only other things I can think of that might cause a failure to ovulate, thus a failure to menstruate are pituitary problems, range from ovarian cysts, major changes in diet or exercise, significant emotional stressors, increased body weight, anorexia, to just a significant lack of adequate rest. Any of these could cause changes in ovulation.

    Audra,

If I have to share my comment on my progesterone levels I have to wait for my blood report copy which I asked my doctors office to send one. But from what I heard from my blood report through doctor is that everything seems normal. ( Like No Polsys ovaries, No thyroid etc)

May be 'significant lack of adequate rest' could be the reason is what I could pick from what you have listed here.

Any how thanks for taking time to respond.

I will wait till my next doctor appointment day which is in April 1st week & see how it goes.

    Thanks, DJ

    DJ2009,
Please update after your next doctor visit. I would love to know your results. Tomorrow will be 12 weeks since my last period, but the hpt's keep coming up negative. I have never been longer than a week late. I was at the doctor last week and my urine test there was negative, but I've gained 4 pounds. (I never gain weight and I haven't changed my eating habits.) I already have children, so I really don't think I'm imagining any of this. I'm suppose to go back to the doctor next month if I don't get my period yet. I hope your doctor visit goes well and you get some answers. I think if I go another month without my period or a positive hpt I'll just about go crazy. Not knowing is a horrible feeling.
