Okay, I've read your posts about types of pipes. I have an odd (well, maybe not) mix of piping under a 1-story 800 sf house crawl space. The majority is copper and galvanized pipe. However, I have the dreaded polybutylene coming from the kitchen sink (with lots of joints to make pipes go from vertical to horizontal), and also going to my hot water heater (which is located just outside the house--an Aquahut) and also to my hose spiggot. The hot water heater connection is very close to the kitchen stuff, so there's not much of the polybutylene except a length running to my hose spiggot--and I think part of that is copper with a length of PB on either end.

So, should I use CPVC or just PVC or perhaps PEX? Can these attach to copper pipe? I need something that can handle cold--living in NC and we get a lot of freezing temps followed by very warm days (last week snowing to 80 degrees). Also any idea of what this would cost to have installed?

All of what you mentioned will work but PEX would likely be the easiest to use, unfortunately the most expensive.
