shower diverter valve does not work properly
My shower diverter valve does not work properly. It allows water to flow from the tub nozzle and the shower head when the diverter is for shower only, when turned to tub only water will come out of tub nozzle like it should,
The diverter is a turn valve, I believe compression type,
I Purchased new value installed it ,same issue water out of shower and tub nozzle.
I am wondering what could be the problem? It appears the valve may not be getting its full range of adjustment to divert all the water.
Is there an adjustment somewhere in the unit.
Does the rubber washed on the end of the valve, bottom out inside the housing? Hopefully onto something adjustable.

New to Ask , looking forward to get responses :confused:

Two thoughts, when you reinstall this well used stem be sure you have the handle totally opened/unscrewed otherwise it will not seat properly. #2 did you resurface or replace the stem seat down inside the valve body? It may have a nick that prevents a perfect seal. Seats can be resurfaced or replaced.

This is the old valve , I replaced with new.
As far as the seat I did not replace I will try to get a new one this weekend and install it.

    Thanks for the seat tip

Look inside the valve body, many seats can be removed with just an Allen wrench.
