I am new to this site my name is william I recently found out that I am a father of a three week old boy... now its not that I wasn't trying to be in his life while he was in her but I was constently in formed from HER that I was the father now. Now when he was born it was said to be her ex boyfriend of like 5 yrs so he was there through it all his name was put on the because... the boy took his name, but then he took a pt cause he had heard through the grapevine that I had sex with her around the same time.. so the pt came back that he wasn't the dad so I did one and it turned up mine.. so now my sons mother thinks MY SONs last name should be hers and I was wondering if there is anyway I can contest this to try and have my son with my last name so yeah if anybody has any info that would be great cause I ve been looking on the internet for like 5hrs and I think it would be better to hear from somebody then reading it off a page thank you very much

Well, I'm not sure about the name thing. Sorry dude. Though... I do know how you feel. I'm in the same situation, only we haven't gotten any tests done to see if it is mine or the other guys child. The mother loves the other guy, so they live together and everything seems OK... for now. I worry he will flip and get the test done and do terrible things to the baby and the mother. But I am in no possion to do anything useful, yet.

The part that you may find interesting is that I do not care what the child's Name is, nor who takes care of it, as long as they are good to it and it feels safe/ loved/ and healthy. Though I don't know who's child it is, but still. I've decided if it was mine and they were going to take care of it and be the "parents" I'd let them leave the name as it is. It would be nice to be in it's life that's all I'd want...
