    Per diem not on W2 form
    Hello,

    I received my w2 form, but I found my per diem was not on the form. Do I need to declare the per diem when I fill tax form, if it is, then how to do that?

    If you were paid per diem by your employer, then you can not claim on your tax return.

    My question is if I need to report my per diem in Tax form.

    For example, I received $5,000 per diem in 2008, paid by my employer. But this amount of money is not on w2 form. So do I need to put $5,000 in Tax return form?

    It appears that you were paid by employer under accountable plan that is you provided your employer evidence/receipts to support your expenses. Then you do not report it.
