    Naming baby
    Hi
    Well I'm 8 months pregnantwith my first and he's a boy. And I still haven't decided on a name. I like the name phoenix and I can't think of any other name. My boyfriend doesn't like it and refuses to let me name him that,I've tried to think of other names that he likes but they don't seem right to me. Should I go with phoenix or should I chose a name to keep my boyfriend happy?:confused:

    Has he suggested any names? Each of you should come up with a list of names you like and then present them to each other. Maybe eventually compromise and one gets to choose the first name and the other chooses the middle name. What about names rooted in your family history? Or a name with a meaning?

    Personally I like the name Phoenix but it's not my choice!

    My question to you and I know this might sound dumb, but is he the father of that baby? The only reason I ask that, is because today in this day and age, anything goes. If he is the father, then he should have a say. Now if he is not the father then I would tell him to piss off it' your decision. Also let me point out that he should own up to his responsibilities and put a ring on your finger.

    Well he has mentioned a few names but I just can't get my head around liking them. Yes he is the father :) so that's why I don't want to choose phoenix because yes he does have a say in it but I can't get the name out of my head

    Is it just the name or the symbol that you enjoy(and by that I mean that of a bird or fire) if you enjoy the symbolism of the name use a thesaurus on bird/fire or look up other bird names and use partial or full names of them that may sound more "normal" to your boyfriend yet still let you get the feeling your looking for. Also is it the symbolism of the bird(soaring, flying, or perhaps majestic) again an online thesaurus is your friend :)

    Perhaps Phoenix could be a middle name and you can find a first name you both like. You still have time... :)
