Child Abandoment in Indiana
I am a mother of 2 boys ages 6 and 17 months, my husband left me and the kids 7 weeks ago. I have received no money from him to support the kids and he rarely calls to talk to our oldest. I would like to know if this is abandoment and if so how do I go about filing charges against him.

Yes and no, it is a civil issue, not a criminal issue, you can use this when you file for divorce, file for custody of the children, and file for child support. He really does not owe you the money till a child support order is issued. ( or alimony) So how long ago did you hire an attorney and have you filed for child support in court yet. |

I just find out today by a threat that my sons father supposing filed charges on me 5 years ago. I f that is true how could he got away with it if me and him still communicated. Can he do that. And if the papers were filed under false information how do I go about fighting it?
