    About my divorce case
I filed divorce in 2007. Since the husband had disappeared, I filed the case without his signature. My lawyer told me that the first step is the court going to look for this person. During this process, they find three addresses, but still could not find him. So the case now is in the court and is waitting for "service of publication", but the lawyer tole me that I have to wait the judge to give a permission for "service of publicaiton".

But I have been in this situaiton for 2 years, I want to know if this is the case that supposed to be or is there anything wrong with my case? Could some body with knowledge can help with this? Thanks a lot!

I am in California. My lawyer told me that the case is now waitting for the judge to give to permission for "service for pubilcation", and it has been a really long time and my lawyer said that they cannot push the judge to respond quickly. So I have been waiting. I also want to know if there is a website for me to see the process of my case(like the immigaration case, I got the case number, then I can go online to check the process)

You could contact the clerk of court in a general way, asking for information about how a spouse is 'served'; keep in mind that court personnel are not supposed to offer legal advice.
You could contact another matrimonial lawyer and request an opinion about how your case is proceeding. There is nothing wrong or unethical about doing that.

While it does sounds like a long time, how long ago did you make the motion to do service by publication
