How do I hook up my t-stat?
    Hi,

I want to connect a Honeywell CT51A t-stat and I don't know what colored wires go with what terminals. I do not have air conditioning.

The cable from the furnace has 5 wires

On the furnace, the wires are connected as follows:
    White - T
    Red - 3T
    Black - R
    Blue - G
    Orange - Y

On my t-stat I have the following terminals:

    R
    1
    2
    G
    Y
    W

    Help!

Are there any other wires connected to any of these terminals?

Are you referring to the old, or new t-stat? If new, what colors/letters were connected on the old one?

    No Nothing.

I purchased the Honeywell thermostat new. My wife took off the old thermostat but didn't write down what colors were with what terminals on the old thermostat.

I just checked Honeywell.com, CT51A does not match any documents/search criteria. Are you sure this is an accurate/complete model # ?

It's on the Honeywell web site under do-it-yourself, non-programable, non-digital, standard thermostats.

Below is a link for Ace Hardware showing the exact thermostat.

HONEYWELL CT51A1035 THERMOSTAT STD FOR HEAT/COOL APPLICATIONS CT51

Just cut and paste into your browser.

That's a nice pic, but no useful info is available there. I would need to view the wiring diagram for the t-stat to determine the function of each terminal. It should be with the installation instructions. If you could scan & post image, we may get somewhere.

Here is a link for a .pdf file off the Honeywell website showing the back of the thermostat.
