Is it oilfired or gas? How long does it run? Is the Primary relay reset kicking out?

Clean the flame sensor (if so equipped). Look for a ceramic-insulated steel rod with a single wire, usually attached to the burner assembly at the opposite end from the ignitor. Remove it and clean with abrasive cloth or steel wool.

I have a similar problem as csavagel. My gas furnace ignites but the flames go out from time to time. I have tried cleaning the burnings and this solves the problem for a day or so. The heating element seems to be working once I turn the furnace switch off for about 20minutes and the flames ignite, but sometime goes out after 3 or so seconds. Thank you in advance.
