    Hi,

I am on H1B and my wife is on H4. I came to USA in Oct, 2007. I was in NJ from oct 2007 to Sept, 2008. After that I moved to CT.

For, filling income tax for year 2008. Do I consider as part residence/non-residence for NJ. I was in Nj for 9 months of 2008. In CT, I was for oct, nov and dec.. 2008. I am still in CT... what is my filing status in CT, part-residence/ non-residence.. I moved to CT as I change my job.

Which form I should file for Fed and State tax?

Do I need apply iTIN for my wife?

NJ will consider you resident for 2008. Check at NJ web site.

For CT: If you are present in a state, then any income earned during this period, must be reported to the state.

To your resident state, you must report your worldwide income for the year. Read: Your U.S. Tax Return: Working or Living in Two or More states
