Can they garnish where I work?
This is an interesting one. I'm also in a bad mess. I'm trying to fiind out if I live in the state of South Carolina that has no wage garnishment, but work in Georgia that does allow wage garnishment, can chase have my wages garnished? Thanks, sheila

First its not a good idea to piggyback your question on someone else's. This can lead to confusion. You should start a new thread. So I've moved your question to its own thread.

I believe they can garnish your wages if you work in a different state.

Thank you scott. I just got registered today, and I did everything I could to ask my question, but for some reason I couldn't ask it, so now can you tell me how to get to the thread you was talking about. So sorry that I'm ignorant to this, but in time I should do better. Sheila

Yes, the law effects the location of the business where you work.
So they may serve your work place in GA and they will have to obey the court order.
