    Fiancé adopting my daughter
    My Fiancé would like to adopt my daughter! She is two years old and I do not know who her father is. How can we go about doing this?

    He can't adopt until you marry and then once you are married he can file the adoption papers.

    First, get married. Most areas would want you to be married first. Second, hire an attorney to prepare the adoption petititon. The attorney will explain the process to you.

    It likely that you will have to make an attempt to get the father to relinquish his rights. This means identifying all potential fathers, informing them they may have a child and getting a paternity test to determine the actual father to relinquish their rights.
