    Estate art
    Hello,

I have a few paintings and photographs that my cousin left to my mom when he died. He owed her a lot of money, so we are just trying to break even at this point and sell what he did have. Here is a list of some of the artists he has. Can you please provide me with a ROUGH estimate of what these artists sell for?

    1. Duane Michals
    2. George Platt Lynes
    3. Douglas Safranek
    4. Carla Osberg

I understand that if you don't have a picture of the piece, that these estimates will be very rough. But right now we are just doing our homework and are trying to determine what these things might go for. Like I said, he died owing my mom a lot of money- $30k to be exact.

    Thanks,

All artists you mention are extremely well known. However, George Lynes may be a tad contraversial. He liked the male nude body !

All that is left for you to do, my dear, is get them into a gallery to be appraised to determine the actual value of each piece, and if you are pleased, then talk to the gallery, or shop around, to put them up for sale, or auction. Depending on the need at this time for some their works, you may easily recupe what you need. If one or two don't sell well, then hold them back and try again. Artists popularity comes and goes and value goes up and down just like the stock market. But there are always investors out their willing to pay top price.
