    Pregnant and can't sleep
I am about 9 weeks along, and I can't get a full night sleep if my life depended on it. I will end up falling asleep at 4 in the morning, and I have to wake up at 7. Does anyone know some tips or any vitamins that I can take? I'm not too sure if we pregnant can take sleeping pills or not. But, if we can that would be lovely.

When I had that problem my doc recommended Unisom. But make sure you speak to your doc about it before you do it. Unisom also helps with nausea.

Our list of approved medication at the hospital I work at includes Tylenol PM. Anything labeled Tylenol is okay. The OBs I work for even recommend that Benadryl is okay once in a while for sleeping.

There are currently 3 nurses I work with who are pregnant. They frequently take benadryl and/or Tylenol PM to sleep.

Unisom was my best friend when I was pregnant - it was given to me for nausea and just happened to give me the only sleep I had during my pregnancy. ;)

Get as much sleep as possible. Don't feel guilty about taking naps after work or a quickie snooze on your lunch break. I had a girlfriend who kept a pillow in her car so that she could doze during her lunch hour.

Cherish your zzzs. They'll get more and more scarce soon. =P
