    Break or Break UP?
Recently my boyfriend asked for a break about two weeks ago because he said he needed time to himself to figure things out. I've always been that dedicated girlfriend and more. However, I was his first real relationship he's really had. We were going out for 8months going on 9months. In the beginning he had doubts of getting into a relationship because he is 19years old and a football player. Even though he was not like the typical football player that I saw after speaking to him for a year and being friends with his team mates and seeing how they were with girls. He was different . Also he wasn't your typical football hunk. His best aspect was his personality and that was all. Not attractive body wise look wise. But the guy who is always the center of the party socializing , dj'n parties, making jokes, being silly, etc. He was the first guy I've ever dated and liked for who he truly was and not for his looks intelligence and personality. Now, he says he's going through some stuff and needs time. When I asked how long he said he didn't know, its just something he has to figure on his own when he gets through what he's going through. My question is how long should I give for this break before moving on because I feel that I should not be dangled around. Especially if you say you love the person. Is this really a break or a break up? Where shall I go from here? Is he really going through some stuff or is he using it as an excuse to ease in to a break up? Should I communicate with him or not?

My rule of thumb is always treat a break like a break up because 90% of those "breaks" lead to a break up so it's best to try and prepare yourself

If I were you I would move on with out him. If he cared for you he would not need a break. I would say he's telling you he needs a break and is going to string you along in case he does not find someone else.

I really don't think him needing a break indicates that he does not care for you.

Leave him alone, and do your own thing, without him.

A break, is a break up, or a break down, which ever, accept its over.
