My name is Debbie . I am 45 years old and a convicted felon. I had researched the "law Library while incarcerated and found I am eligible for a small business grant/ loan. I have started a small construction /handyman service and would like to expand. Any suggetions on how to apply would be greatly appreciated! :rolleyes:

What type of loan and who gives it? Is it a loan specifically for felons or does anyone qualify?

Have you looked into bonding, licensing and liability insurance? Any or all three can be a problem for felons.

You apply to various banks for loans, you can then also go to the SBA for a loan, These are still based on credit and equity in your business, along with your business plan and company finicial statements.

As for grants, you will have to find the actual grant and make a application to it. Often they are more tax breaks for employing a number of people, Also there are tax breaks for some business that move to economic depressed areas
