    Money Judgement
I live in New York and I just received in the mail a subpoena for a money judgment that's nine years old for $1,665.00 with interest of which $3,070.32.I live from pay check to pay check. I have no bank account and no credit cards.Ihave a job not paying much.
This money judgement was from an apartment I lived in with at the time my ten year old daughter. I was living there for four months and paid the landlord cash. There was a lot of problems with this apartment. No heat, broken windows and bugs so I moved. I also paid security. There's a lot more to this story.
My question is can I get the interest taken off and make monthly payment to the court?

You first need to appear in court, you need to find out the SOL on this debt and perhaps challenge that in court.
IN fact you can even challenge that you owe it, and make them prove that.

Most likely if they win in court, you will owe the interest and interest will continue to grow till debt is paid.

I'm confused by what you have said. Were you served with a Subpoena to appear in connection with a Judgment? That would be an attempt to locate your assets following a Judgment being taken against you.

OR were you served with a Summons for a debt and there is no Judgment at this point?

If it's a summons from a debt nine years ago, it is out of Statute and they cannot collect. It is also unusual to pay interest on unpaid rent. Did you have a lease which enabled the landlord to charge interest?

Need more info in order to be 100% sure what is going on here.
