I did not file 2006 and 2005
I am a single father raising my 12 yr old daughter and did not file in the years 2005 or 2006. I was just too busy going through the divorce and since it was lengthy I did not file. Can I still file and what forms can I use. I used the 1040ez for 2008 and got a $6,000 return.

You certainly still can file and you can use the same kinds of form that you have used in the past. Furthermore, odds are the only reason the IRS has not contacted you because you didn't file is they think you are most likely due a refund for the years in question.
You will need all the same information you would have had to give if you filed those returns on time, (W-2, 1099, 1098 etc.) I hope you still have that paperwork or can get it from your employer and others.
Also I would seek out a professional tax preparer, sure it will cost you a few bucks but odds are they will get you the max refund due and if it was anything like 2008 ($6000) it will be more than worth it.
You should file those years ASAP and get the money you are due!

Agreed! You should file as soon as possible. There will be NO penalty if you are due refunds for both years. In fact, you will get paid some interest by the IRS on the refund amounts.
Frankly, I am surprised you got the refund for 2008. The IRS normally puts a hold on the current refund until you file the past-year returns.

That is assuming they are organized enough to realize this. Which I have found often they are not.

Actually, it's more likely Shano filed the Form 1040EZ and is EXPECTING a $6,000 refund. Since the IRS only started accepting efiled returns last week, and, for those efiled returns, the refund is not due to the banks until 30 Jan 09, I suspect he has NOT YET gotten the refund.
If that is the case, I hope he has not spent the money yet, because the IRS probably WILL put a hold on the refund until he files the previous years' returns.
