    Transferring deed to my sons
    I am 70 yrs old and was told I have to transfer my house over to my sons 5 yrs before I pass away in order to avoid taxes can you inform me of the law concerning this do I have to sell it to them now

    Who is telling you this and why?

    Unless your total estate is more than $2 million then there should be no estate taxes. In fact, you may be causing more tax problems by transferring now.
